It's easy to feel ashamed of this part of ourselves, but it is an important part of us that is sensitive and wants to feel really close to others. When we have been genuinely hurt and betrayed, it makes sense to withdraw and recover or to reach out to seek sympathy and concern. 

 

Unfortunately,
this way of seeking love is deeply flawed.
